dealing with a truck crash incident

what happened:  driver was parking the truck into a spot and another truck's trailer hit the side of my truck. The other guy's trailer is not damaged.

   My initial Reaction:
oh my, this is bad
I am so angry at him
He told me he didn't see the other truck backing out.
He assumed that he was parking
damn, this is going to be expensive
I am going to **** fire him
I don't know how I will fix it
I feel angry as if he did on purpose
I began to start feeling enraged and over reacting
I got mad as if he is doing something to me
I don't know how I will get it repaired
I don't know what to do
I freeze and cannot think of what to do

Immediately my mind jumps to 20 things that want to blame him.
i want to get mad, but stay calm - sort of
I want to shout from mountain top.

OK. You get it.

Action

spoke to driver
gave data that other trailer was not damaged
gave data that it was not his fault
mentioned that he is willing to do what it takes to take care of it.

Putting it in perspective
- no one is hurt
- the other truck is not damaged - so no need to pull insurance on this
- stuff happens and need to learn how to respond
- truck is drivable
- need to write an incident report, get estimate for repair and take it out of driver pay
- things happen all the time
- more reasons to practice calm
- i was resisting truck going to middle of Florida
- I do over react initially then work through it
- I need to be careful of what I say.  What I say comes true.
- looking at the updated pics, it looks like it was cosmetic.
- Hoping the expense is manageable
:)
